Hurry Up

Your relationship with God is not supposed to be a Sunday morning thing. It is not supposed to be a prayer before a meal. It is not supposed to be a 30second thought at the end of the day as you drift off into dream land. Your relationship and connection with God should become a part of every detail of your day!!!

In order for that to happen, you are going to have to work at it. It must be a choice. Jesus had to do the same thing. He had his time, and had to choose what to do each day.

Check out Mark 1:29-35.
These verses map out a day in the life of Jesus. Jesus had just left the synagogue (church) and IMMEDIATELY went to Simon's house. Synagogue was not just an hour though, it was the reading and teaching of the scriptures. It could take a good part of the day. Simon's mom was severely ill, and Jesus healed her. Word got out of this miracle, and by sunset ALL the sick and demon possessed from the town were at the door of Simon's house. Vs. 34 Says "Jesus healed many who had various diseases". The word "immediately" is used twice, making me think he had no down time. The day was packed full- doing amazing stuff, sure- but still full.

When Jesus fell into bed that night, I can imagine he was exhausted. The thought of sleeping in probably sounded fantastic. Cooking a good breakfast in the morning, wonderful. But what does he CHOOSE to do? What did he do with his time?

Mark 1:35- "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got us left the house and went off to a solitary place where he prayed."

We too are constantly on the go. Its a habit that we have found ourselves in. Are you going to imitate Jesus and make your relationship with God a priority? A priority above sleep? Above food? Above play? Above _________ (fill in the blank).

Are you going to devote your life to knowing your God? Or are you wasting your time?
